第一志望の企業のOB訪問に行ってきます。

直接会って、自分が悶々と考えていたことをすべて聞いてくるつもりです。

自己分析って、やりだすと止まらない！

約6時間くらいかけて1冊仕上げました。

 

自己分析って言われると何やるのか具体的にイメージもっていなかったinnsiですが、要は自分の価値観、強み、弱みを文章に起こしてまとめる！

って感じだとい思います。

 

 

あとは英語学習でTOEIC900点を目標にしたいと思います。

そのためにリスニングと語彙強化！

いよいよ今年は東大での研究が始まります。

就職活動も始まります。

海外大学院への挑戦も始まります。。。。。

いよいよ将来へのPassが見えてきました！

。。。いや、むしろまったく見えてきません。

とりあえず就職活動対策とその他の情報収集に重点をおきたいと思います。

まずは、海外大学院博士後期課程の情報収集から。MIT、ハーバード、UCLAの情報を軽く調べたのでメモ！

今わかっているのは、MITのElectrical　Engineering　and Computer Science(EESC)の最低必要なToefl-ibtスコアが100ということです。

以下Webサイトより引用。

15. What tests are necessary for applying to EECS?

EECS will accept either the TOEFL or the *IELTS scores for the English evaluation test. For the TOEFL, we require a score of at least 600 on the paper-based test, 250 for the computer-based test, and 100 for the Internet-based test. We require a minimum score of 7 on the IELTS. We do not use the GRE test scores during the admission process–regardless of citizenship–unless you are applying to the LGO Program, which does require the GRE.

*IELTS is jointly owned by the British Council, IDP; IELTS Australia, and the University of Cambridge ESOL Examinations.

3. Is the deadline the same for the application and supporting documents?

No, the deadline for submitting your application is December 15 and the online application system will shut down that day. However, the online letter system will stay open for several more weeks. It is best if we receive your letters and transcripts by end of December or early January.

22. When will I receive my decision notification?

As stated above, decisions are available in mid February. Applicants should go into their online application to check their status. Decisions on financial aid are mailed between late February and April 1. Applicants have until April 15th to notify MIT of their decision to accept or decline the offer of admission. Decisions made after April 15 are considered binding and may require a written release.

Information and a list of schools agreeing to adhere to this decision date can be found on the Resolution Regarding Graduate Scholars, Fellows, Trainees and Assistants, or by searching the C0uncil of Graduate Schools website http://www.cgsnet.org.

14. Can I apply to more than one department without negative consequence?

Funding & Scholarship

All students admitted to our Ph.D. program receive full financial support. This includes tuition, fees, and a cost-of living stipend ($2,446 per month before taxes in 2010-11).

Support is independent of need provided a student remains in good academic standing and is making satisfactory progress towards his/her Ph.D. degree. Students are expected to complete their Ph.D. requirements in four to six years.

All students who receive financial support participate in the educational program for about ten hours a week for one term—usually as a quarter time teaching fellow or in a similar capacity, during their second year of study.

Candidates for master’s degrees are not eligible for financial aid from SEAS.

Cost of Study

For 2010-11, tuition for the two-term academic year is estimated at $37,916 (including University health service fees). After the second year of study, tuition costs drop substantially.

Graduate dormitory accommodations are available to single students. Rates are $5,482-$8,608  per 9-month academic year. Meals are available in the graduate dining hall. Dormitory residents are required to enroll in the meal plan at a cost of $2,108.

University-operated married students’ apartments, from efficiency to three-bedroom suites, are available. The cost varies according to the accommodations. A wide range of private housing can be found within commuting distance.

具体的にスコアはかいてないですねぇ。。。

Admission is highly competitive, and applicants are evaluated on the basis of a number of criteria including transcripts, letters of recommendation from former teachers, standardized test scores (including, when appropriate, TOEFL scores), written statements of purpose, appropriateness of research interests, and research experience and promise.

 

こちらも具体的でない。。。

Financial aid is provided for virtually all Ph.D. students, either in the form of a Teaching Assistantship (TA), a Research Assistantship (RA), or a Fellowship. These awards provide full tuition-offsetting scholarships. Teaching assistants are expected to grade papers or provide laboratory instruction in selected classes. Research assistants will be assigned to a specific professor’s research group.

・Toefl１００は最低必要。

・MITはToefl-ibtのみ。

・ハーバードはGRE重要。

・UCLAは良くわからん。

 

とにかく！Toeflで100点取らないと（大学院2年の秋までに）お話になりませんということだ！

 

うん。やる気出てきた!

さて！そのために今年の目標はというと、、、、、

 

長期目標（2011年度中に達成）

・Toeicを950点以上。

・Toefl-ibtを95点以上。

・英検を1級に。

 

 

中期目標（4月までに）

・Toeic850点

 

 

短期目標（2月までに）

・卒論を英語に翻訳

 

 

とりあえずこんなところです！

不可能？？

やってみないとわからない！

途中で価値観が変わるかもしれないけど。

でも、今の目標に向かってがんばるっきゃ無いじゃん！

あとは目標に見合った努力ができるかどうか！

ここの研究職の方とは、一度コンタクトをとっていて後日OB訪問しようと思う。

まずは、戦略を立てねば。。。

就職活動はゆっくり。

引っかかったらラッキー程度の気持ちで。

しかし、研究は本気で。

この数年で人生が決まると思ってやる！

給与なんて景気や、政治の影響を受け変動するので絶対的な情報は手に入りません。

しかし、就活するにあたって目安としての情報は必要でしょう。
